GEOTHERMAL UCR

Costa Rica is a country pointer in the central american region in the use of the high enthalpy geothermal to generate electricity. However, in the applications of geothermal low enthalpy of the country is far behind with respect to each other. In all the country has excellent conditions for the implementation of projects of exploitation of geothermal potential of low enthalpy using uses direct. There are many industrial sectors and residential areas that could benefit from them if there is disclosure and projects of research and/or innovation that demonstrate its feasibility.

Objective

Develop projects for the exploitation of the potential of geothermal low enthalpy using uses direct in Costa Rica to strengthen the bond University and the Company.

Goals

  • Studies of potential geothermal low enthalpy in the country.
  • Design of systems of exploitation of geothermal heat for uses direct geothermal low enthalpy.
  • Increasing energy efficiency in the industrial sector by replacing and/or add-on systems for energy efficiency for various applications.
  • Transfer of technology.
  • Training.
  • Strengthening the bond University and the Company.
